Visa reported fourth-quarter earnings of $3.48 per share, $0.02 below expectations. Revenue came in at $12.14B, against $12.33B expected.
The board raised the quarterly cash dividend by 16 per cent, to $0.780 per share of class A common stock. The dividend is payable on December 1, 2026, to holders of record as of November 10, 2026.
The miss raises questions about transaction volumes heading into the holiday spending period. The dividend rise points to confidence in cash generation, but top and bottom lines both came in light, which cuts against a growth story built on expanding into crypto settlement, the systems that move and settle payments. The miss also comes after reported talks with Fireblocks, which were denied, and at a time when Visa was reported to be weighing a move into blockchain infrastructure to guard against stablecoin disintermediation. Stablecoins are digital tokens tied to a currency, and they could bypass card networks such as Visa's.
