Iran's supreme leader, Khamenei, has called for conditions to be met before the war ends. He did not call for unconditional de-escalation.
Iranian state TV reported that Iran is open to a shorter US proposal timeline if conditions are met. It also reported that the US blockade must be lifted first. Iran says talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz have stalled.
Fox reported that the US is sending a third aircraft carrier strike group and 10,000 more personnel toward the Persian Gulf. Fox also reports that Iran has advanced plans for attacks on Americans. Tehran says the US blockade has cut its imports by 25 per cent.
They say the push could delay the vote or make it harder for the opposition to form a government. Trump, in a post, endorsed Prime Minister Netanyahu ahead of the election.
CBA analyst Vivek Dhar says Brent may need to reach $150 a barrel before demand in emerging Asia falls sharply.
Since the war began, rice in Iran is up more than 60 per cent and beef more than 150 per cent. Medicine is in short supply.
The dispute over which step comes first has defined the standoff since September. It keeps open the gap between Trump's no-strike pledge and continued Pentagon planning. Iran's openness on timing suggests some flexibility on process, but core demands over Hormuz and sanctions remain unresolved.
