A fire broke out at Ras Tanura, one of Saudi Arabia's largest export and loading hubs, after an attack on the site.
Earlier strikes this month have hit Riyadh and Jeddah airports and Aramco's Dhahran headquarters. Those episodes left confirmed export and production capacity intact, even as the list of targets widened. Ras Tanura is an export and loading site, not an airport or an office.
The Houthis claimed on Thursday, Oct 22, to have targeted an Aramco site in Yanbu and Dammam Airport. The same day, they claimed a strike on King Fahd Airport in Dammam. Fars reported multiple explosions in Najran, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday, Oct 22. The UK has advised against travel to Dammam.
Israel Hayom reported on Monday, Oct 26, that Saudi Arabia offered the Houthis $1 billion to halt attacks, and that Iran brokered the offer. The fire comes days after that report.
