Explosions are reported in Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force says the city is under threat of a missile attack.
Russia has agreed to resume trilateral talks with Ukraine, and strikes continue while those talks are being arranged. Team-level talks are tentatively set for early to mid-November in Abu Dhabi or Switzerland, and both sides have agreed to the format. Technical negotiations could be held in Abu Dhabi in mid-November. Zelenskiy said a team-level trilateral meeting was agreed after a call with Witkoff and Kushner. US envoy Steve Witkoff has also secured the release of US detainee Stephen Hubbard.
Moscow's demand for the rest of Donbas has not changed. Ukraine's negotiator raised Oleshky with the US side on October 21. Asked about Zelenskiy's claim of fresh Russian strikes, Trump said "we will see how it works out."
The strikes land as the process moves forward, with talks tentatively set for November and both sides agreed to the format. Strikes have not stopped as those steps have accumulated.
