Oshkosh lowered its full-year forecasts after a third quarter that fell short, with slow fire truck production the stated cause. Earnings per share were $2.41, $0.73 below what analysts expected. Revenue was $2.84 billion against $2.97 billion expected.
The company now expects adjusted earnings per share of $8.50 to $9.50 for 2026, down from its previous range. It expects net sales of about $11.0 billion, down from $11.2 billion.
Chief executive John Pfeifer said improvements in fire truck throughput are taking longer than expected. He called it a near-term issue and said the company is acting on material flow and production scheduling.
The cut matters more than the quarter. It resets the full-year picture, and the lower sales figure suggests the production delay is now reaching revenue. Whether the changes to material flow and scheduling restore output before the year ends is what will decide if the new range holds.
The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.57 per share, payable November 30, 2026, to shareholders of record on November 16, 2026.
