LKQ withdraws 2026 guidance after a Q3 miss and names Salvatore A. Abbate CEO
The board also suspends its strategic review, including the sale process for the Specialty segment, while the new chief executive assesses the business.
LKQ is withdrawing its 2026 guidance after third-quarter earnings of $0.50 a share fell $0.20 short of estimates. Revenue was $3.32B against $3.47B expected. The company last updated the guidance on July 30, 2026.
Chief Financial Officer Rick Galloway put the shortfall in Europe. He pointed to the German ERP implementation and to volume declines in the UK and Benelux. Specialty came in modestly below plan. North America met expectations.
The board named Salvatore A. Abbate President and Chief Executive Officer, effective December 15, 2026. It suspended its strategic review, including the Specialty sale process, so he can assess the business first. Shareholders had been watching for a decision on Specialty since the review began. That decision now waits for him, and the next visible event is his initial assessment rather than any portfolio move.
The board left the capital return in place. It declared a quarterly dividend of $0.30 a share, payable December 3, 2026 to holders of record on November 19, 2026. It also extended the share repurchase programme by two years, to October 25, 2028. Set beside the withdrawn guidance, that points to a board treating the miss as an operating problem in Europe, not a strain on the balance sheet or cash flow. It also fits the earlier leadership shakeup there.
