The all-cash deal adds a marketing-engagement platform to Salesforce's recent run of acquisitions

Salesforce has agreed to acquire Braze for $47.50 per share in cash.
Braze shares closed at $29.34 on October 16, according to Morningstar. The stock has not traded since, so that figure does not reflect the most recent session before the deal was announced.
Bank of America cited Salesforce's expanding acquisition activity in AI and customer engagement when it raised its price target on October 12.
Taken together, the deals point to Salesforce adding capabilities around its existing products rather than making one large, transformative bet. The Braze purchase is also funded entirely in cash, adding to the strain on Salesforce's balance sheet at a time when the company has already committed $25 billion to share buybacks, the largest accelerated repurchase on record, with final settlement expected in the third or fourth quarter of its 2027 fiscal year. How much capacity Salesforce has left for further acquisitions, without that spending competing with the buyback, is now the question for investors.
