AES has cleared two more regulatory hurdles in its pending merger with Horizon Parent, L.P., an entity tied to investment vehicles affiliated with Global Infrastructure Management and the EQT Infrastructure VI fund.
The merger still needs additional regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions before AES becomes jointly owned by the Global Infrastructure Management and EQT Infrastructure VI consortium.
The two clearances remove some of the larger regulatory obstacles to completing the take-private deal, narrowing the list of conditions left to satisfy. What remains is the pace of the outstanding approvals, which will determine how quickly the merger can close and AES moves to joint private ownership.
