US economy grows 3.4% in the third quarter, official figures show
The Bureau of Economic Analysis will revise this estimate on November 25 and again on December 23.

Chart: US real GDP, annualised change on the quarter
The US economy grew 3.4% in the third quarter of 2026, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Before the release, the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow model had put third-quarter growth at 3.3%, according to StockTitan.
The print sits well above the softer income picture from August, when personal income grew 0.2% against a 0.5% forecast. Spending had already been running ahead of income that month. Taken together with the income data, a figure this strong may point to firmer underlying demand than the income numbers alone suggested. It may also bear on how much weight a cooling consumer story can carry.
