Avery Dennison reported third-quarter earnings per share of $2.42 on Thursday. Revenue was $2.33 billion. Both beat expectations, with earnings $0.07 above forecasts and revenue at $2.29 billion expected.
For full-year 2026, the company expects reported EPS of $9.45 to $9.59. On an adjusted basis, which leaves out an estimated $0.65 impact from restructuring charges and other items, it expects EPS of $10.10 to $10.24.
Chief Executive Deon Stander said organic growth held up despite higher inflation and customer destocking, where customers run down stock they have already built up. He credited operational agility with driving productivity and strong free cash flow.
Investors will need to weigh the $0.65 gap between the reported and adjusted guidance. Stander's view that organic growth held up is the point later quarters will test. If destocking persists, the revenue beat may be harder to repeat than the earnings beat.
