Netanyahu says serious security incident occurred on flight from Dubai
The report comes the same morning a flydubai jet on the Dubai-Tel Aviv route reversed course, hours after another flydubai flight diverted following a mid-air dispute between its pilots.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a serious security incident occurred on a flight from Dubai. He gave no further detail on what happened or whether anyone was hurt.
The statement follows a separate string of incidents on the same corridor. A flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, FZ1081, turned back to Dubai hours after another flydubai jet on the route diverted to Saudi Arabia following a mid-air altercation between its pilots.
Netanyahu has said in recent weeks that enemies may try attacks before Israel's election, set for October 27, 2026.
Whether the incident Netanyahu described is linked to the flydubai diversions is not yet established. The distinction matters: the diversions have so far been treated as operational disruption to Gulf aviation, but an incident tied directly to Netanyahu would point to a targeted threat rather than generic airspace risk. If it turns out to involve hostile action rather than a technical fault, that would raise the chance of an Israeli response that deepens the confrontation with Iran and Hezbollah, a prospect crude markets tend to react to quickly given their sensitivity to any sign of escalation near Gulf shipping lanes and infrastructure.
