Pre-market, the S&P 500 ETF is up 0.2%. Technology Select leads the main sectors at +0.7%, with semiconductor and semi-equipment names such as Synopsys, Lam Research, KLA Corp and Applied Materials all up more than 2%. Financials Select, Health Care Select and Energy Select are each down 0.4%, with Moderna the weakest name in health care at -2.7%. Materials names are mixed but Corteva is plunging 69.5%, dragging the group's range sharply wider even as FMC Corp gains 1.8%.
Among factors, iShares MSCI USA Momentum Factor ETF leads at +1.5%, followed by Vanguard Growth ETF (+1.1%) and Mega Cap Growth ETF (+0.9%), while value lags, with iShares MSCI EAFE Value ETF down 0.8% and Vanguard Russell 1000 Value ETF down 0.5%.
In mega-cap growth, semiconductor and equipment names stand out: Lam Research +2.5%, Alphabet (C) +2.4%, Alphabet (A) +2.3%, KLA Corp and Applied Materials both +2.2%, while Prologis is the weakest at -1.8%.
Elsewhere, iShares Semiconductor ETF (+1.2%) and VanEck Semiconductor ETF (+1.0%) confirm the chip strength, while Regional Banks ETF and iShares MSCI Europe Financials ETF each lag at -0.8%.
A. O. Smith leads individual gainers, with Rocket Lab Corporation also sharply higher, while Ferrovial is the weakest overall mover.
