Nextpower reported second-quarter earnings per share of $1.31, $0.20 above expectations. Revenue was $1.11 billion, against $1.07 billion expected. Chief executive Dan Shugar called it a record quarter. He credited continued demand for the company's tracker products and accelerating demand for its energy storage, eBOS and other complementary offerings.
Nextpower raised every fiscal 2027 range it gave. Revenue is now expected at $4.2 billion to $4.45 billion, up from $4.1 billion to $4.4 billion. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) diluted earnings per share are now expected at $3.62 to $3.87, up from $3.42 to $3.64. Adjusted diluted earnings per share are now expected at $4.61 to $4.87, up from $4.42 to $4.73. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) is now expected at $890 million to $940 million, up from $870 million to $930 million.
Both ends of the revenue range moved higher. That points to a higher floor for the year, not only a stronger quarter. The next reports will show whether tracker, energy storage and eBOS demand keep driving the revised figures.
The company also spent cash during the quarter. It bought back about $162 million of common stock and completed its acquisition of Zimmermann PV-Steel Group for about €230 million.
