Bausch + Lomb reported third-quarter earnings of $0.34 per share, $0.12 above expectations. Revenue came in at $1.38 billion, below the $1.40 billion expected.
Thomas J. Appio, the company's chairman and interim chief executive, said the quarter reflected growth across all three segments and continued expansion in profitability. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance, its own forecast, to $5.45 billion to $5.55 billion, up from $5.44 billion to $5.54 billion. It also raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance, excluding acquired in-process research and development, to $1.09 billion to $1.14 billion, up from $1.025 billion to $1.075 billion. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation. Acquired in-process research and development is research a company buys through a deal and has not yet completed.
On October 13, Bausch + Lomb flagged both guidance raises alongside a leadership change. The results came through as flagged, with growth coming from all three segments rather than one. That answers part of the question about whether the leadership change would coincide with a slowdown in operations. Revenue still fell slightly short of expectations, despite the earnings beat.
Appio is also running Bausch Health as interim chief executive, so the two companies share a leader. The results do not address that. They cover the near-term numbers only.
