Align Technology reported third-quarter earnings per share of $2.80, 3 cents below what was expected. Revenue came in at $1.01 billion, against $1.03 billion expected.
For the fourth quarter, the company expects revenue of $1.00 billion to $1.02 billion. For the full year 2026, it expects revenue of $4.11 billion to $4.13 billion, with Clear Aligner volume and revenue growth of about 5% to 6%.
Chief financial officer John Morici said the fourth-quarter outlook reflects soft demand, the same as seen through the year. He said Align expects revenue growth and margin expansion in 2027 without a recovery in consumer demand.
The fourth-quarter range keeps revenue roughly level with the third quarter, which was below the $1.06 billion Align reported for the second quarter. That fits the soft demand Morici described. The 2027 outlook, with growth and margin expansion but no consumer recovery, therefore carries most of the weight of the forecast. Share buybacks of up to $300 million in the fourth quarter, and about $500 million for 2026, may support per-share results, but top-line growth is still unproven.
