Trump said on Truth Social that Iran "now has No Navy, No Air Force, and both their Military and Economy are in shambles, including the fact that Iran's Inflation is at 301%." In the same post he said "The Naval Blockade has precluded them from getting Oil." He endorsed Prime Minister Netanyahu ahead of Israel's election on October 27.
Rice prices in Iran are up more than 60 per cent and beef more than 150 per cent since the war began. Medicine is in short supply. Iran says a blockade of its southern ports has cut its imports by 25 per cent, ISNA reported.
Trump says flows through the Strait of Hormuz now exceed pre-conflict levels. Iran says it has stopped illicit vessel traffic there. Talks to reopen the strait have stalled, with Tehran wanting the blockade lifted first.
Trump pledged no strikes on Iran before November 3, but military planners have kept drafting Iran strike plans. Kan reported that Trump directed CENTCOM to draft an Iran strike plan with no deadline. The US is sending a third aircraft carrier strike group and 10,000 more personnel toward the Persian Gulf. Netanyahu said intelligence indicates Iran and its proxies may try to disrupt Israeli elections.
The post fits a pattern this month. Trump has cast Iran as economically and militarily broken while tying that picture to Netanyahu's reelection. On October 22, Trump said Hormuz flows exceed pre-conflict levels and that Iran is fabricating oil-price disruptions. Shortages of medicine and soaring food prices inside Iran back up the blockade-pressure story. The post adds nothing new on talks, strikes, or the November 3 timeline Trump has repeatedly pledged to respect. It keeps the conflict narrative alive, while the gap between public pledges to de-escalate and reported private appetite for renewed action stays where it was.
