World Kinect lifts 2026 profit forecast well beyond a small third-quarter beat
The fuel distributor raised both ends of its adjusted EPS range, with the low end up $0.32, while revenue of $13.27B overshot forecasts of $12.46B by a wide margin.
World Kinect has raised its 2026 adjusted earnings guidance to $3.52 to $3.62 a share from $3.20 to $3.40, a lift that dwarfs the $0.02 by which third-quarter earnings of $0.99 a share beat expectations. The low end of the range rises by $0.32 and the high end by $0.22. The guidance, not the quarter, is the news.
The revenue line is the larger surprise. Sales of $13.27B compare with $12.46B expected. Earnings in the year-earlier quarter were $0.59 a share, according to MarketBeat, so the quarter is well ahead of last year as well as of forecasts.
The new range lands close to where the market already was. MarketBeat reported analysts averaging $3.60 for the year, inside the new band and well above the old one. So management has largely caught up with the Street rather than leapt past it, and the upgrade is less of a shock than the size of the raise suggests. A raised outlook still counts for more than a quarter that merely beat, and this one is credible only if the strength carries on.
Chief executive Ira M. Birns pointed to healthy fundamentals in Aviation, strong performance in Marine and continued progress in Land. Whether those three can hold the higher range is the question the fourth quarter will answer, and it depends on the top-line strength continuing.
