Burnham says Iran's Revolutionary Guard almost certainly behind Fairford incident
The UK Prime Minister's attribution turns a domestic security matter into a direct accusation against Tehran's Revolutionary Guard.

UK Prime Minister Burnham says the Fairford incident was almost certainly carried out by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The Revolutionary Guard already stood accused of orchestrating a plot to target US B-1 bombers stationed at the base, an accusation that forced their withdrawal from Fairford on October 4. Burnham's statement extends that accusation from a security investigation to a formal attribution by the UK government.
The statement lands inside a standoff where Trump has pledged no US strike on Iran before the November 3 election.
Burnham's attribution raises the odds of a UK response layered onto that standoff, a timeline Washington has said will hold until November 3. It adds a new European front to a dispute so far centred on tanker strikes and enrichment in the Gulf, widening the set of actors with a direct grievance against Tehran just as mediated talks remain stalled.
