S&P 500 ETF is up 0.4% pre-market, led by Technology (+1.0%), where Corning, KLA Corp and Lam Research top the group while Apple lags at -1.5% after Nikkei reported scaled-back iPhone 18 Pro orders on weak demand. Consumer Discretionary is up 0.3%, with Tesla +1.1% following China's CPCA report of 95,366 China-made units sold in September. Financials (+0.2%) and Health Care (flat) are mixed, with Humana surging 14.4% inside an otherwise muted sector. Energy is the weak spot at -0.6%, with Matador Resources and APA Corp the worst performers.
Factors show a value and quality tilt: Vanguard Russell 1000 Value ETF +1.4%, iShares MSCI Intl Quality Factor ETF +2.0%, Invesco S&P MidCap Quality ETF +2.3%, alongside High Beta strength (SPHB +1.3%).
Mega-cap growth names are broadly firm, led by chip suppliers KLA Corp, Lam Research and Broadcom, all up over 2%.
Elsewhere, iShares U.S. Telecommunications ETF jumps 4.1% even as telecom carriers slide individually, and semiconductor-focused Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Technology ETF (+3.8%) and Semiconductor ETF (+1.8%) outperform.
Among individual movers, communications and satellite names dominate the gainers list while major telecom carriers are sharply lower.

Gold miners are broadly higher as spot gold advances toward $4,173 an ounce on stronger Chinese demand expectations, with Global X Copper Miners ETF +2.7% and VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF +2.5% leading commodity-linked ETFs.
