The SPY is flat in after-hours trading, with most main sectors little changed. Health Care (XLV) is roughly flat but Humana jumps 13.2% while CVS Health falls 3.6%, the sector's clear extremes. Real Estate (XLRE) is up 0.2%, led by sharp gains in Crown Castle (+6.7%), American Tower (+5.6%) and SBA Communications (+5.2%). Financials (XLF) is up 0.1%, with American Express the weakest member, down 1.6% after the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued a money-laundering enforcement action and a $350 mln penalty against the company. Technology (XLK) adds 0.2%, while Consumer Discretionary (XLY), Industrials (XLI), Consumer Staples (XLP) and Utilities (XLU) each move within a tenth or two of flat, and Energy (XLE) and Materials (XLB) are essentially unchanged.
Among other tracked sector ETFs, the State Street Communication Services Select Sector SPDR is down 0.8% and the iShares U.S. Telecommunications ETF is down 0.6%, the two weakest groups tracked.
The telecom carriers are sharply lower after SpaceX agreed to acquire a nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum license portfolio and the FCC approved SpaceX's Starlink satellite expansion, while Space Exploration Technologies itself gains and AST SpaceMobile also declines.
