Crown Holdings' Q4 earnings guidance falls below Wall Street view
Full-year guidance narrows toward the low end of its prior range as the fourth-quarter number comes in under analyst expectations.

Crown Holdings now guides fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share to $1.63 to $1.73, below consensus of $1.80. Full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance narrows to $8.35 to $8.45, from a prior range of $8.30 to $8.50.
The fourth-quarter figure is not new. Management gave the same $1.63 to $1.73 range earlier on October 19, alongside third-quarter results that beat expectations: net sales of $3.71 billion against consensus of $3.44 billion. What has changed is the context. That same number now sits below Wall Street's $1.80 estimate, rather than being read alongside a quarterly beat.
The narrower full-year range also tightens around the low end of the previous band rather than lifting it. Taken together with the fourth-quarter step down from the third quarter, the guidance reopens a question raised when the beat first landed: whether the slower fourth quarter reflects normal seasonal patterns or a real slowdown in demand. The guide, which now falls short of where analysts had set the bar, points toward the latter.
