CNP Assurances is considering a takeover offer for Coface, the French credit insurer.
CNP Assurances already has ties to Coface. Filings with WebDisclosure show that CNP Assurances Holding, an entity ultimately controlled by the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations through La Banque Postale and La Poste, crossed a disclosure threshold in June 2026 by holding 4.43% of Coface's capital and voting rights.
Coface shares closed at €15.33 on Euronext Paris on September 14, 2026, up 0.66% on the day but down 2.66% over the week, according to AD HOC News. Coface has not confirmed any approach, and no terms or price for a potential offer have been disclosed.
There is no earlier deal between the two companies to compare this to, so the move cannot yet be read against a known pattern. It stands as a situation to watch as, and if, details on price and financing emerge.
