Technology is little changed overall but chip equipment names are surging, led by Applied Materials (+4.7%), Corning (+4.6%) and KLA (+4.0%), while Cadence Design drops 3.0%. Consumer Discretionary is mixed as cruise lines rally hard, with Carnival up 11.8%, Royal Caribbean up 6.1% and Norwegian Cruise Line up 4.5%, while Expedia falls 2.0%.
High Beta factor leads at +1.1%, with Momentum up 0.5% and Value down 0.4%.
Within mega-cap growth, semiconductor equipment names dominate the upside again, and Walmart (-2.8%) and Apple (-1.7%) are the weakest.
Semiconductor ETF (+1.8%) and VanEck Semiconductor ETF (+1.3%) track the equipment-led strength, while iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF falls 1.4%.
Several small and mid-cap names are posting outsized moves without sector overlap, led by network and specialty stocks on the upside and a sharp drop in Fair Isaac.
