Major Movers
Published
After-hours trading is quiet, with the S&P 500 ETF flat on the session. Sector moves are narrow and mixed. Financials, Technology, and Consumer Discretionary each edge up 0.1%, while Health Care dips 0.1% and Materials is just below flat, dragged by Nucor, the clear outlier in that sector at -3.6%. Energy adds 0.2%, the best of the main sectors, with TechnipFMC leading at +1.2% and broad participation across the group. Industrials and Real Estate are effectively unchanged.
Factor signals are similarly subdued. iShares MSCI USA Min Vol Factor ETF is the lone standout at +0.2%, while growth and momentum factors drift slightly negative. Small and mid-cap ETFs are flat to marginally positive.
Within the mega-cap growth cohort, moves are fractional in both directions. Gilead Sciences and Philip Morris are among the weakest at -0.5% each, while Stryker and Medtronic lead at +0.8% and +0.6% respectively, though both are covered under Health Care above.
The Uranium ETF rises 0.6% and the Airlines ETF adds 0.5%, both standing out among other sector ETFs. The Oil & Gas E&P ETF and iShares U.S. Transportation ETF each gain 0.3%. On the downside, the Biotech ETF (XBI) and Retail ETF each slip 0.2%.
Among individual movers, the top gainers are scattered across sectors with no shared theme. On the downside, steel and materials names are under pressure, with Steel Dynamics and Nucor both selling off sharply, consistent with news that the US is pushing for 50% steel tariffs among G20 partners.
