Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a campaign launch event that Israel must go through to the end and topple Iran's government. He has said before that the Iranian regime is bound to fall, and his framing today matches that earlier language on Iran as well as his past statements about Hamas and Hezbollah. It carries no new signal of escalation or de-escalation.
The comment lands amid a US-Iran standoff that remains unresolved. President Trump has said he is weighing a return to large-scale strikes to end the war and called the moment a turning point. He has also said he wants to take Iran policy to allies at the United Nations and has a major decision ahead, and separately said Iran is not ready for a deal even as he expects the war to end soon. US officials say Iran shot down at least two unmanned American aircraft in recent days.
Oil has climbed 70% this year on the risk to Middle East supply from the war and from Houthi threats to shipping, a gauge of how much uncertainty is already built into prices.
Against that backdrop, Netanyahu's remarks add little beyond noise for markets. Trump has signalled the conflict may be nearing some resolution and has been in talks with Gulf leaders, and political positioning from Israel's leadership does not change the pricing of oil or regional risk, where the war's endgame, not any one leader's rhetoric, is what investors are watching.
