Debris from an intercepted Houthi drone killed one person, Saudi civil defense said. It is the first death since the fighting escalated.
The drone had been launched at the city of Taif. Saudi forces have intercepted other Houthi drones in recent weeks, including one bound for Mecca airspace that a Saudi-led coalition said it downed before it reached the restricted zone.
The death comes as Saudi Arabia seeks a two-week truce with the Houthis through Omani mediation, with an agreement possible by the end of the week, according to a report. Separately, US officials are holding their own talks with the Houthis in Oman over attacks on Red Sea shipping.
The civilian death marks a direct escalation, but it does not change the supply factors that have been driving oil prices. Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline has been offline since a September attack hit two pump stations, according to satellite imagery analysed at the time. Pipeline repair timelines and port loading suspensions remain what energy traders are watching, with the diplomatic tracks involving Iran, Oman and the United States running alongside them.
