Poland deploys aircraft after Russian strikes on Ukraine
The move comes as the House sends a Russia sanctions bill to Trump's desk.

A Ukrainian official said explosions were heard near the Ukraine-Poland border during a Russian drone strike.
Poland's military has deployed aircraft in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine, the country's armed forces said.
The deployment lands in the middle of a fast-moving week on sanctions and the war. The House passed a Russia sanctions and tariffs bill by a vote of 262 to 159 and sent it to Trump's desk. The Kremlin called the legislation an unfriendly act and said new sanctions would hamper efforts to reach a peace deal. Separately, Zelenskyy said Ukraine had struck Russia's Yaroslavl refinery, a strike that came hours after Trump said Ukraine had agreed to halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.
For markets, the deployment itself looks like standard NATO posture against an established pattern of Russian strikes and Western counter-moves, rather than a new escalation. It adds little to conditions already priced into energy markets around disruption risk, sanctions exposure and regional instability, especially with Trump and the Kremlin trading signals over a possible energy truce that could calm oil and diesel volatility if it holds.
