nVent Electric has agreed to acquire Maverick Power, a maker of engineered power distribution and infrastructure equipment for data centers, in a deal worth $1.75 billion, subject to customary adjustments. The agreement, reached on August 21, 2026, includes up to $550 million more in cash tied to performance targets for 2027 and 2028.
Maverick Power is based in McKinney, Texas, and has about 900 employees. It generated revenue of roughly $527 million in the twelve months ended June 30, 2026. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.
The purchase is nVent's ninth acquisition since it split from Pentair in 2018, and it fits a pattern rather than standing apart from one. Infrastructure sales at nVent more than doubled organically in the second quarter of 2026, driven by data center demand, and the company has said it expects data center sales to top $2 billion for the year. Adding Maverick's revenue extends that trajectory rather than marking a new direction for the company.
