Grab Holdings said it will acquire a 60% stake in Atome Financial, the Singapore-based buy-now-pay-later platform, for $1.49 billion in cash.
The deal follows weeks of reported talks between the two companies over a majority stake in Atome. Grab is the largest ride-hailing and food-delivery operator in Southeast Asia.
For investors, the confirmed price leaves little to reassess. The terms Grab disclosed are close to what had already been discussed in earlier reports on the talks, so the announcement clarifies the structure of the deal without shifting the picture the market had already built around it.
