Bristol-Myers Squibb said IZA-BREN reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 59% compared with chemotherapy in a Phase 3 breast cancer trial.
The trial, PANKU-Breast01 (NCT06343948), randomized patients with unresectable, locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic HR+/HER2-negative breast cancer. All had failed at least one prior line of chemotherapy.
Bristol-Myers Squibb said the drug is a potentially first-in-class EGFRxHER3 dual-targeting bispecific antibody-drug conjugate. It said the drug has shown clinical benefit in five tumor types.
Bristol-Myers Squibb said the confirmed objective response rate was 40.5% for IZA-BREN and 20.2% for chemotherapy. Median duration of response was 6.9 months on IZA-BREN and 4.2 months on chemotherapy. Against chemotherapy, the response rate is roughly double. The 59% reduction in progression or death adds evidence beyond response rates.
IZA-BREN had earlier met its dual primary endpoints of progression-free survival and overall survival in a positive Phase 3 trial in triple-negative breast cancer after taxane therapy in China, Bristol-Myers Squibb said in its first-quarter 2026 results.
