Roper Technologies reported third-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $5.89, $0.04 above expectations. Revenue came in at $2.17 billion, below the $2.19 billion expected.
The company raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $22.35 to $22.40, up from the $22.15 to $22.30 range it had set in July. For the fourth quarter, Roper expects adjusted earnings per share of $5.95 to $6.00.
CEO Neil Hunn said third-quarter adjusted earnings per share exceeded expectations, prompting the higher full-year guidance.
GAAP net earnings rose 22% to $485 million and adjusted net earnings rose 5% to $586 million, according to Roper's press release. Revenue grew 8% in total, with organic growth of 7% and a 1% contribution from acquisitions. During the quarter Roper spent $436 million on three bolt-on acquisitions, for its iPipeline, Procare and Strata businesses, and received $1.2 billion in proceeds from the sale of Indicor's instrumentation businesses, the release said.
The new range builds on guidance set in July, when Roper had pointed to third-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $5.75 to $5.80 and a full-year range of $22.15 to $22.30. The quarter came in above that guidance, so the higher range rests on results already reported rather than on forecast alone. The revenue shortfall against expectations is the part that does not fit a clean beat. The fourth-quarter guide of $5.95 to $6.00 sits above the $5.89 reported for the third quarter, making the next test whether that sequential step holds.
