CBRE posted third-quarter earnings of $2.05 a share, four cents ahead of expectations. Revenue came in at $11.52 billion, short of the $12.01 billion forecast.
Chief executive Bob Sulentic said core earnings per share rose 28% on a 13% increase in revenue, with both the company's resilient and transactional businesses growing by double digits. CBRE has repurchased nearly $1.2 billion of its own shares so far this year.
The quarter follows a run of beats: CBRE topped estimates in the second quarter with EPS of $1.56 against a $1.47 forecast and revenue of $11.23 billion, a 15.1% rise from a year earlier, according to MarketBeat. A year ago, in the third quarter of 2025, the company reported EPS of $1.61 on revenue of $10.26 billion, AlphaStreet reported. Going into this print, CBRE's full-year 2026 guidance stood at $7.80 to $7.90 a share, MarketBeat reported. Separately, CBRE agreed to acquire Onnec Group for £460 million in cash, with an additional earnout of up to £300 million tied to growth targets, a deal expected to close around year end.
The mixed result sets a profit beat against a revenue shortfall of about 4%, meaning the per-share gain rests on margins rather than volume. Core earnings per share growing more than twice as fast as revenue points to that same margin story, and the near $1.2 billion in buybacks adds further support to the per-share numbers. Whether the revenue gap reflects timing or softer underlying demand is the question the next quarter will need to answer.
