Dow reported third-quarter earnings of $0.71 a share, $0.07 above what Wall Street had expected. Revenue was $11.27 billion, short of the $11.38 billion forecast.
"Dow delivered a solid third quarter, driven by targeted downstream growth and disciplined execution against an evolving macro backdrop," said Karen S. Carter, Dow's chief executive officer.
The earnings beat came even as revenue fell about $110 million short of forecasts, meaning the quarter's upside rested on margins and cost control rather than sales growth. Dow said its self-help initiatives remain on track to add more than $1 billion of EBITDA uplift in both 2026 and 2027, and it now expects to reach an upsized $700 million in growth and productivity benefits in 2026, building to roughly $2 billion in total uplift by the end of 2027.
The company also said benefits from its first European asset shutdown are still building and will continue to ramp into 2027. With Carter pointing to a shifting macro backdrop, upcoming quarters will show how much of Dow's performance can keep resting on savings and cost execution rather than sales.
