Senate rejects resolution limiting Trump's war powers on Iran
John Fetterman was the only Democrat to oppose the measure, which would have required congressional approval for US military action against Iran

The Senate voted 49-50 to reject a resolution that would have required congressional authorization before the United States could take military action against Iran.
Four Republicans, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul and Thom Tillis, voted with most Democrats in favor of the resolution. John Fetterman was the only Democrat who voted against it.
The rejection leaves President Donald Trump with unilateral authority to order military operations against Iran, without needing sign-off from Congress. That removes a legislative check at a moment when Israeli officials have signaled that another strike on Iran could be imminent and oil markets have been pricing in the risk of a wider conflict, keeping the path to confrontation open on the president's own authority.
