Trump says Turkey and Bangladesh order 111 Boeing jets, with options for 50 more

President Trump said on Truth Social that Turkey and Bangladesh have placed combined orders for 111 Boeing aircraft, with options for 50 more. He said the Department of Commerce, under Secretary Howard Lutnick, supported the deal, and put its value at tens of billions of dollars in sales and exports, which he said would support tens of thousands of American jobs.
The announcement comes after Boeing and Turkish Airlines finalized an order for up to 150 737 Max jets on Wednesday, made up of 100 firm aircraft and 50 options. That order adds narrowbody volume for Boeing at a time when production has been constrained and certification of the larger 737 Max 10 has been delayed.
The overlap between the two figures leaves open how much of the 111-aircraft total Trump cited represents new demand rather than the Turkish Airlines order already on the books. The announcement points to continued alignment between Washington and the two countries on U.S. manufacturing, but investors weighing the deal's value to Boeing will need to work out how much of it is incremental business rather than a restatement of an order that was already finalized.
