Aurora Innovation sets 2030 target of 30,000 driverless trucks
The company tells investors it expects to exit 2026 with 200 driverless trucks running under Transport as a Service deals.

Aurora Innovation used its Analyst and Investor Day to put numbers on its driverless trucking plan. The company says it aims to have more than 30,000 driverless trucks on the road by 2030, generating annual revenue above $5 billion at a gross margin of roughly 60%.
For this year, Aurora expects to exit 2026 with 200 driverless trucks operating under Transport as a Service agreements. It estimates full-year 2026 revenue of $14 million to $16 million, with a revenue run rate of $80 million by year end. The company targets breakeven gross margin on a run-rate basis in the first half of 2027, at around 500 trucks in operation.
Aurora also disclosed that trucking company Hirschbach intends to own and operate 500 trucks under a separate Driver as a Service agreement, with deliveries set to begin in 2027.
It is the first time Aurora has attached specific numbers and dates to its plan to scale driverless trucking, giving investors a concrete timeline against which to measure a business that has so far been built on projections rather than results.
