The US, Denmark and Greenland will hold a signing ceremony on Tuesday, Fox reports. It follows Trump's announcement on Friday that a security deal covering Greenland had been reached.
Frederiksen confirmed on Sunday that she will meet Trump in New York, where the signing is expected to take place during the UN General Assembly, according to The Copenhagen Post. She was traveling to New York on Sunday ahead of the meeting, the outlet reported.
"In a troubled world, I believe that this agreement is good for our security," Frederiksen said, according to The Copenhagen Post.
A formal signing moves the agreement from Trump's unilateral announcement into binding diplomatic process. That locks in Arctic positioning against geopolitical rivals and removes near-term doubt over whether the deal will actually hold, though it does not change the broader picture of elevated Middle East and Russia-Ukraine supply risks already priced into markets.
