Flutter cuts 2026 revenue guidance and pauses its buyback after a third-quarter miss

The company blames unfavourable sports results and the closure of Brazil, while its US sportsbook ran ahead of expectations.

Flutter Entertainment lost $0.18 a share in the third quarter on an adjusted basis, $0.50 worse than expected. Revenue of $3.87B missed the $4.11B forecast.

The company cut the midpoint of its 2026 group revenue guidance to $17.61B from $17.91B. It cited unfavourable sports results and the closure of its Brazil operations. Dan Taylor, the chief executive, said results swung against Flutter in the quarter, which the new guidance reflects.

The causes differ in weight. Bad sports results are a matter of timing and can reverse. A closed Brazil business does not come back, and the decision to pause the share buyback for the foreseeable future is management's own. Flutter says it will put organic investment and deleveraging first. That is a shift from the stance it held before the UK and Brazil troubles piled up.

The quarter lands on top of the UK tax hit, which on October 20 had already driven a 1,400-job restructuring and the Brazil shutdown. Taylor said US sportsbook performance ran ahead of expectations. It is the one offsetting point in a squeeze on revenue and costs across several markets.

Flutter also completed a refinancing of its revolving credit facility and Term Loan A, extending both to 2032. That buys time, but it fits a company that now treats paying down debt as a stated priority.
