Knight-Swift reported third-quarter earnings of $0.83 a share, $0.06 above estimates. Revenue came in at $2.20 billion, topping the $2.18 billion expected.
The company narrowed its full-year 2026 net cash capital expenditure forecast to a range of $600 million to $625 million, down from a prior top end of $650 million. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.20 a share, paid on September 21, 2026.
For the fourth quarter, Knight-Swift expects adjusted earnings of $0.78 to $0.84 a share. Chief Executive Adam Miller said ongoing cost inflation and constrained capacity will require further meaningful rate growth in 2027 to support margin repair and fleet investment.
That comment turns attention from this quarter's beat to the pricing cycle ahead, since margin repair depends on rates rising faster than costs. Trimming the top of the capital spending range by $25 million sits awkwardly next to a call for pricing strong enough to fund fleet investment. Whether the fourth-quarter guidance holds will show if this quarter's $0.06 beat can survive a period where rate gains, not cost control, have to carry the margin story.
