Morgan Stanley again lists Nvidia as its top semiconductor pick
The designation echoes a call the bank has made repeatedly over the past year, most recently in July

Analyst Joseph Moore reinstated Nvidia in that role once before, replacing Micron Technology after memory stocks had risen between 300% and 900% since his prior call, according to TheStreet. In July, the bank said Nvidia remained its top pick, arguing it offered the best value in the group after a period in which the bank had rotated toward Sandisk and Micron for supply-chain exposure, TheStreet reported. Before that, in an earlier cycle, Morgan Stanley held an Overweight rating and a $260 price target on Nvidia heading into its GTC conference, citing its AI roadmap and ecosystem strategy, according to Yahoo Finance.
A top pick designation marks a step beyond the research desk's recent incremental commentary on financing conditions and coverage notes, adding institutional conviction at a moment when the stock has already absorbed a regulatory scare over the pace of AI deployment and recovered on Jensen Huang's doubled shipment guidance and a record buyback authorization. It arrives alongside unresolved questions over China export rules that neither the recent state dinner nor lobbying efforts have settled, so the pick does not close that overhang, it simply states where Morgan Stanley stands relative to it. The timing, after a six-session semiconductor rally pushed the Nasdaq 100 to a record, places the bank's call in line with the market's momentum rather than ahead of it.
