Industrials (XLI) is flat overall but masks a sharp split: Boeing jumps 2.4% after the Pentagon selects it to develop the next-generation fighter jet, while Northrop Grumman tumbles 5.9%. Technology (XLK) adds 0.2% and Consumer Discretionary (XLY) is up 0.2%, both quiet. Financials (XLF) and Real Estate (XLRE) each slip 0.1%, with AIG the weakest financial at -1.4%.
Within mega-cap growth, Oracle and Meta Platforms lead at +0.6% each, while the rest of the cohort trades in a narrow band.
Workday slips 0.4% after announcing a workforce reduction of about 2.5% tied to a reorganization, even as it reiterated its fiscal 2027 guidance. The remaining overall movers show no shared theme.
