Nvidia's board approved an additional $150 billion in share buyback authorization. The expansion follows a similar move earlier in the week, so it largely restates ground already covered rather than adding new information for investors.
AMD agreed to acquire World Labs, an AI research lab led by Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock deal valued at $8.2 billion. The purchase deepens AMD's commitment to AI hardware following comments from Chief Executive Lisa Su, and will test how much capital discipline the company is willing to trade for that bet rather than confirm new demand for its chips.
Boeing's certification of the 737 Max 10 remains delayed over a software issue. FAA Administrator Bedford said there is no set timeline for resolving it, and WestJet has confirmed its Max jets run version 14.1 of the software now under review, days after Boeing said testing on the aircraft was complete. The delay reinforces a fleet-wide concern already raised by WestJet and the FAA rather than introducing a new one.
Paramount Global secured enough investor demand for a bond sale of roughly $44 billion, a fresh sign of appetite for its credit. Taken together, the day's developments leave the broader picture largely unchanged: a buyback expansion already priced in, an acquisition testing discipline more than demand, a delay confirming a known problem, and one standalone positive in the bond market.
