Iran's Armed Forces Chief Ali Abdollahi said Iran's military and allied groups would give a "devastating response" to any threat, and that the network had completed both open and hidden "strategic integration." He said Nasrallah's influence still extends across Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq.
Abdollahi said the United States and Israel had expected Nasrallah's death to break the "resistance" front, and that they were wrong.
The comments come as Iran's delegation in New York said it would not continue talks with Washington. Iran later clarified that Monday's New York meeting involves only mediators, not direct US participation, according to Tasnim. Iran's Araghchi met mediators in New York on Monday without US representatives present, and separate US-Iran talks centered on a revised seven-day Iranian proposal discussed at the UN General Assembly were expected Monday or Tuesday, according to people informed about the discussions.
The rhetoric from Iran's military leadership escalates alongside mediators still working a possible deal in New York, against a backdrop of stalled talks and Trump's rejection of Iran's proposal. Combined with prior crude spikes on stalled diplomacy, this reinforces the bearish, higher-risk-premium tone for oil and regional risk assets rather than shifting it.
