Financials (XLF) fall 0.6%, led lower by Blackstone (-2.2%) and Navient (-2.1%), while Technology (XLK) drops 0.6% with Qualcomm down 6.1% and Salesforce down 4.6%, even as Nvidia gains 3.1% after raising its buyback authorization to $150 billion in new commitments. Consumer Discretionary (XLY) is off 1.0%, with Tesla down 2.5% against Mattel up 3.5%. Materials (XLB) lags at -1.1%, dragged by Newmont (-3.6%) and FMC (-3.4%). Energy (XLE) is the lone gainer, up 0.8%, led by SM Energy and ExxonMobil.
Factors show broad softness, with High Beta (-1.5%) and Momentum (-0.9%) underperforming Value (-0.5%).
Within mega-caps, Qualcomm (-6.1%), Meta Platforms (-4.0%) and ServiceNow (-4.1%) stand out to the downside alongside Nvidia's gain.
Semiconductor (SOXX) and Software (XSW) ETFs are both down more than 1.3%, and Airlines (JETS) falls 2.1%.
MongoDB tumbles 26% after its chief executive resigned to join Meta, one of the sharpest single-stock moves in the market. Arm Holdings and DoorDash lead broader losers, while Paramount Skydance tops the gainers list.
