A separate tracker from the Americas Society/Council of the Americas describes the contest as a technical tie two weeks before the vote, a tighter margin than Quaest's poll shows.
The lead has narrowed since an earlier first-round survey, when Lula held 36 per cent to Bolsonaro's 31 per cent. Runoff polling has consistently put the two nearly level in the high 40s, suggesting that even if Lula advances past the first round, the race would tighten again before any final result.
