Merck licenses KRAS G12D drug SPR2015 from Scibrunch Therapeutics

Merck said it has agreed to an exclusive global license with Scibrunch Therapeutics for SPR2015, an investigational oral drug designed to block the KRAS G12D mutation, a gene change linked to pancreatic and colorectal cancer.
The addition gives Merck a second-line option in a crowded field, where rivals including Inhibrx already have clinical data on their own KRAS G12D inhibitors. The deal adds to Merck's oncology portfolio without immediately changing its competitive standing, and an oral formulation on its own is not a clear edge over drugs already in testing.
