The S&P 500 ETF (SPY) is up 0.3% in regular trading. Technology leads at +1.0%, with Akamai up 9.1% and Qualcomm and Microsoft both above 3%, the latter following new Copilot and Agent 365 features unveiled today, while Gen Digital lags at -2.0%. Industrials gains 0.8%, led by Generac (+4.0%) against W.W. Grainger (-2.0%). Energy is the weak spot at -0.9%, with Valero down 2.8% and Baker Hughes the lone standout gainer. Materials is flat overall but Mosaic and Dow both fall more than 2%. Health Care softens 0.4%.
Factors show a mild growth tilt: High Beta leads at +0.8%, growth factors near +0.5%, value roughly flat.
Within mega-cap growth, Qualcomm and Microsoft pace gains while Meta Platforms falls 3.0% and Tesla slips 1.6%, the latter after a report of production snags with its Optimus robot.
Semiconductor ETFs outperform broadly, with XSD up 1.6%, SOXX up 1.4% and SMH up 1.2%.
Chip and cloud-software names dominate the day's biggest individual gainers, while communications and software names lead the decliners.
