ConocoPhillips raises its dividend 11% to $0.93 after a third-quarter beat

Revenue of $19.43B beat the $18.36B expected, and the company held its capital spending and operating cost guidance while setting fourth-quarter production at 2.32 to 2.36 million barrels of oil equivalent a day.

ConocoPhillips raised its quarterly ordinary dividend 11% to $0.93 a share after third-quarter earnings of $3.27 a share, $0.28 better than expected. Revenue was $19.43B against $18.36B expected.

The raise comes in a year when crude oil prices have stayed under pressure. Full-year capital expenditure and adjusted operating cost guidance are unchanged. That looks like a company paying for a bigger dividend out of efficiency gains, not out of a price tailwind.

Chief executive Andy O'Brien pointed to the same thing. He said the company is capturing efficiencies across its Lower 48 assets, growing its LNG offtake portfolio and advancing Willow, while progressing toward its 45% target for returning cash from operations to shareholders in 2026.

The savings are being made in particular places. A workforce reduction in Canada was flagged on Oct. 26, even as more cash goes back to shareholders. Fourth-quarter production is expected at 2.32 to 2.36 million barrels of oil equivalent a day.

The higher dividend takes effect with the fourth-quarter payment on Dec. 1, 2026.
