Leonardo raises order guidance but keeps its revenue and profit targets for 2026
Nine-month orders rose 28% to €23.3bn and the Italian defence group's order backlog passed €60bn for the first time, helped by an acquisition.
Leonardo has raised its full-year orders guidance to about €29.5bn from €28.2bn, Investing.com reports. Revenue guidance stays at €22.1bn and EBITA at €2.21bn. So management expects more wins this year, but no more revenue or profit.
New orders rose 28% in the first nine months of 2026 to €23.3bn, Leonardo said. Revenue rose 14% to €15.3bn and EBITA, a measure of operating profit, rose 38% to €1.3bn. Free operating cash flow was negative €68m.
The €60bn figure is the order backlog, not the nine-month intake. Il Sole 24 Ore reports that the chief executive said the backlog passed that level for the first time, and puts it at €60.37bn.
In May, Leonardo estimated that the Iveco Defence Vehicles acquisition would add about €1.2bn of orders between April and December 2026. Il Sole 24 Ore says consolidating that business helped push the backlog over €60bn.
