US crude inventories fell by 865,000 barrels in the week to October 30, the EIA reported on Wednesday. That is a bigger draw than the 377,500 barrels expected, but smaller than the 1.892 million barrels the week before.
The API's estimate for the same week, released on November 3, was a draw of 5.267 million barrels, OilPrice.com reported. The week before it had put the draw at 2.031 million. Both counts show stocks falling, but not by anything like the same amount.
USO, the crude oil fund, is down 2.5% at $154.22 a share.
